Too hot? Not my thing. Too cold? DEFINITELY not my thing. The whole “snow day” thing isn’t as fun as it was when I was in high school. In high school, we didn’t have to do online classes or go to work, unless we had a small job. Today, with COVID-19, “virtual days” are now a thing. I feel bad for the kids who have to be a part of online school during a snow day. What happened to the normal snow day, where you went sledding, and then made hot chocolate when it was too cold? I have seen some schools give regular snow days to children after having multiple virtual days in a row. Children need a break! We all need a break, especially when it’s all white and freezing outside!

Can we talk about the ice really quick? I wish the only ice we knew were the cubes that belong in a cold glass of lemonade on a warm summer day. Pennsylvania weather is not the type of weather I want to deal with every day, all day. The mornings are freezing, the afternoons are bearable, and then the nights are bitterly cold. In 30 days, we will no longer have to deal with these bitter, dark days. Spring is right around the corner! Even though the popular opinion is that summer is the best season, my favorite season is spring. Everything begins to bloom, and new life is brought into the world. The air is not too hot, but not bitterly cold. To me, it’s perfect.

Spring may be in 20 days, but summer only 122 days away! I can’t stop thinking about the warm pool days, and late evening drives. The drives with the windows down, and the music blaring! Those drives are truly my favorite thing about summer. Thank goodness! No more snow, ice, sleet, stuck cars, icy roads, and especially shoveling. Shoveling is one of the worst parts of winter. I know my little brother is counting down the days until spring for the sole purpose of this chore! I cannot wait to be through with all the miserable things that come with this season. We’ll make it through very soon!
