When I was a kid I never dreamed I would get out of York County let alone the country. I’ve always had huge dreams but never had the opportunity or ability to act on them. The first time I went to New York City I was seventeen and a student at Milton Hershey school—we went to see The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time. This was just the start of opportunity leading to what I have now, complete self-sufficiency. The last time I went to New York City was Thursday, November 1st, 2018 on one of the annual Break Through trips where I met with producers from Show Time Media and Susquehanna University Alumni.

This summer I had the opportunity to travel to Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland where I met many amazing people and worked with at-risk youth. We traveled through Belfast, Ballintoy, Galway, and Dublin. It only rained once the entire trip and we explored castles, hiked the Giants Causeway, peered over The Cliffs of Moher, and went to an open mic night at Filthy McNasty’s—the pub next to our hotel.

Last summer I went to the Pocono’s for the first time with my boyfriend’s family. We went to an incredible indoor water park called the Kalahari resort and went to Bushkill Falls. This summer Jordan (my boyfriend) and I went to Los Angeles, California. We went to the Hollywood Wax Museum, Ripley’s Believe it or Not, The Guinness Book of World Records, Universal Studios, and so much more. My point is, anything is possible no matter what financial background you come from. There’s always room to make those unreachable dreams come true.
