Ariana Grande is empowering the women of this generation the same way Beyonce and Christina Aguilera have been for decades. Arianna keeps coming out with Bop after Bop. We first saw her and heard her voice on Victorious where she played Kat Valentine, a goofy redhead gifted with amazing pipes. Her songs are the kind that makes you smile and dance while you put on your heels for the night and slay your makeup. Her songs make you feel like That Girl. Her songs empower and get stuck in your head. Her new Sweetener album is loaded with empowering bops. Here are a few of her most empowering songs.

1. God is a Woman – Sweetener

“When all is said and done, you’ll believe God is a Woman.” If you haven’t seen the music video for this song, it needs to move to the top of your to-do list. This song is a new one but every girl’s anthem right now.

2. Thank You, Next – New Single

“I’m so f*****g grateful for my ex.” Here she thanks her exes for everything they’ve taught her but she’s good on her own and moving on. This song makes all of us want to thank our exes and sashay away with our high ponytails whipping behind us.

3. Breathin – Sweetener

“Just keep breathin and breathin and breathin…” This song is said to be about her anxiety and how she struggles with it but it doesn’t get in the way of her living her best life to the fullest. It’s a reminder to women to just breathe through our struggles and keep going.

4. No Tears Left to Cry – Sweetener

“Right now I’m in a state of mind I wanna be in like all the time, ain’t got no tears left to cry.” This song is the epitome of being 3000% done and going on to live your best life after a split or a falling out.

5. Dangerous Woman – Dangerous Woman

“Nothing to prove and I’m bulletproof and know what I’m doing.” This song is about a woman celebrating her sexuality and owning the fact that she is a sexual being. This song is the kind that makes you feel sexy and lets you know that it’s absolutely your right to own it.

6. Side to Side feat. Nicki Minaj – Dangerous Woman

“Cause tonight I’m making deals with the devil and I know it’s going to get me in trouble…” This song is about being into someone your friends don’t think are good for you but going for it anyway, but it’s also lowkey about the little waddle in your walk after sex.

7. I Don’t Care – Dangerous Woman

“I used to let some people tell me how to live and what to be but if I can’t be me, the F***’s the point?” This is Ariana telling us that she no longer cares about what people think or expect of her and we shouldn’t either. The only person’s opinion that matters is your own.

8. Problem – My Everything (Deluxe)

“Got no weight on my shoulders I should be wiser, and I realize that I’ve got one less problem without ya.” Ariana is talking about the end of a relationship here and ending on a good note even though one’s worries would be lesser without said person.

9. One Last Time – My Everything (Deluxe)

“Baby I don’t care if you got her in your heart, All I really care is you wake up in my arms.” This song is about being unfaithful and owning that but trying to fix it. This is empowering in the fact that it points out that we’re all human and the temptation is real. It’s empowering in that it acknowledges that human beings mess up and can try to fix their choices.

10. Better Off – Sweetener

“Steering clear of any headaches to start, and if we’re being honest, I’d rather your body than half of your heart.” This is about realizing that certain situations, certain people just aren’t for you and aren’t part of your path and goals, and you don’t need to waste anyone’s time entertaining something you’d be better off not even dealing with.
