5 Podcasts I’m Currently Obsessed With (That Were Started by Former “Bachelor” Contestants)

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Susqu chapter.

I was never really into podcasts until one of my favorite people, Ashley Iaconetti, started one called the “I Don’t Get It Podcast”. As a fanatic of “The Bachelor” series, I was all about listening to this podcast since she is my all-time favorite Bachelor contestant. In fact, she was the first member of “bachelor nation” to start a podcast, and many others seemed to follow. And, as a listener, I also followed by continuing to listen! Whether or not you are obsessed with “The Bachelor” series as much as I am, these are five podcasts with content that most anyone can find enjoyable.

  1. The I Don’t Get It Podcast

Ashley Iaconetti, her sister Lauren Iaconetti, and their best friend Naz Perez created this podcast to talk about all the things they just don’t get. Their episodes range from things they don’t get about guys and relationships, to discussing feminine health issues, features from your favorite bachelor contestants, and also pop culture in general. Not only do they dig deep on all the topics they discuss, but they are totally relatable and there is an episode for anyone out there!

My favorite episodes include “Episode 22: We Don’t Get How Harry Styles Can Be As Perfect As He Is”, “Episode 26: Ghostbusters—Ashley I, Lauren, & Naz Confront Ghosters”, and “EP35: Jade & Tanner Tolbert Are Parents”. You can find the podcast on the Podcast app on your iPhone, or use this link to listen through iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/i-dont-get-it/id1188898432?mt=2

  1. The Almost Famous Podcast

Ashley Iaconetti hosts this podcast with former bachelor Ben Higgins. This podcast is solely about the bachelor, the bachelorette, and bachelor in paradise (depending on what show is airing at the time). Ashley and Ben are both popular members of the “bachelor fam” and each provide a credible, unique perspective on the show. With frequent features of a variety of members of the “Bachelor Fam” and addressing nearly everything you would ever need to know about the show, this podcast is great for anyone who can’t get enough of “The Bachelor” franchise.

My favorite episodes include “S21 #12: The Engagement, The Break-Up, and the Rumors” and “S2 #5 Scallops, Sorrow, and Significant Others”. You can find the podcast on the Podcast app on your iPhone, on the iHeart Radio app, or use this link to listen through iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-ben-and-ashley-i-almost-famous-podcast/id1238355247?mt=2

  1. Off the Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe

Kaitlyn Bristowe, the host of this podcast, is one of the coolest Bachelorettes of all time. She keeps it real (and entertaining) in her podcast. She discusses some aspects of the bachelor in each episode, since it was such a huge part of her life, but the podcast doesn’t completely focus on it. Each week she has a guest podcaster to keep things interesting. Some of her topics include fitness, love, and life in general. If you’re looking for a light-hearted and genuine podcast, Off The Vine is for you.

My favorite episodes include “Jillian Harris”, “Leslie Hipkin (a.k.a. Kaitlyn’s Mom!)” and “Dr. Chris Strandburg (a.k.a. Cupcake)”. You can find the podcast on the Podcast app on your iPhone, on the Podcast app, or use this link to listen through iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/off-the-vine-with-kaitlyn-bristowe/id1240420549?mt=2.

  1. Your Favorite Thing Podcast with Wells Adams and Brandi Cyrus

If you watched “Bachelor in Paradise” this summer, you know Wells as the bartender (and the guy that kissed Danielle M. in the most perfect moment of all time). Before that, he was just the hipster guy on JoJo’s season. Brandi Cyrus, his co-host, is also relevant, as she is Miley Cyrus’ older sister. Not only are both Wells and Brandi super cool, but so is this podcast. They discuss anything and everything they love: from things as random as cookie dough to things as serious as relationships. They are fun, light-hearted, and entertaining in all their episodes.

My favorite episode to date is “Your Favorite Thing Podcast: ep. 5 with Danielle Maltby”. If you kept up with Bachelor in Paradise this summer, you’ll know why this episode is so interesting to me. You can find the podcast on the Podcast app on your iPhone or use this link to listen through iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/wells-adams-and-brandi-cyruss-show/id1270288526?mt=2

  1. Scrubbing In With Becca Tilley

Becca Tilley, who was on two seasons of the Bachelor, just started her own podcast! So far, she only has one full episode (which is amazing, by the way). However, she describes that her podcast “inspired by her undying love of TV shows” and will discuss “everything from dating to relationships to music, sports, to her love of music, and everything that falls in between.”

There is only one episode right now, so I would have to say that it’s my favorite! It’s titled “Ep. 1 “THE FIRST SCRUB”. You can find the podcast on the Podcast app on your iPhone, on the iHeartRadio App, or use this link to listen through iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/scrubbing-in-with-becca-tilley/id1279955329?mt=2

Overall, podcasts are a really great way to learn, pass time, and can even help you unwind. Podcast listeners often listen when they are driving in their car, when they are working out, when they are waiting in between classes, or during any time they find throughout the day. If you are considering starting a new podcast, keep in mind these five. They won’t disappoint
