10 Old School Bops to Celebrate the Jonas Brothers Revival

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Susqu chapter.

Okay. News broke last week that there was a high chance of a Jonas Brothers reunion. It’s been rumored for months, and my inner ten-year-old self has been anxiously waiting for confirmation. I woke up yesterday, and there it was. A new song was coming at midnight. The tables have turned (literally) and the Jonas Brothers are back.

The temptation to ransack my childhood bedroom for the hundreds of old JoBros posters is nearly irresistible, but I’m an adult, so I can’t, right? Instead, I’m going to maintain my composure (kind of) and jam out to these 10 old Jonas Brothers favorites and relive my fangirl prime.

1. Burnin’ Up

The biggest hit. The greatest bop. Honestly, there’s no explanation needed here.

2. When You Look Me in the Eyes

This is for certain my favorite old school Jonas Brothers ballad. The black and white music video used to hit me right in the 10-year-old feels like I was really in love, ya know?

3. Year 3000

So I only recently found out that this song is actually a remake of another song recorded by Busted in 2002, but that doesn’t change the magic that was this song or the nostalgia that is this music video. Just check out that screenshot from the video. That’s how I felt when I saw the promo for their new song yesterday.

4. Play My Music

I dare you to pretend that Connect 3’s performance at Camp Rock wasn’t one of the best parts of the movie. I dare you.

5. Love Bug

This was my favorite video back in the day. The song has such good vibes and it’s so sweet. It’s no wonder they captured my elementary school heart.

6. Tonight

The music video for this one was adapted from their official 3D movie (also known as the greatest concert movie of all time), and I have so many memories of screaming this at the top of my lungs in the shower, at sleepovers, in the car, and literally everywhere else.

7. Much Better

Please excuse my in-car disco dance party. This song is too good to resist.

8. Pushin’ Me Away

I think this may be one of the most underappreciated Jonas Brothers songs of all time.

9. Hold On

This song was so good it literally blew the roof off the set they filmed on. Enough said.

10. That’s Just the Way We Roll

This is exactly what I think of when I think classic Jonas Brothers.

Obviously, there are a lot of honorable mentions to this list. If we’re being real, every song they’ve ever released deserves proper recognition. I didn’t even dive into the Disney Channel show era. Today is a new leaf. A new beginning to my first favorite boy band and I don’t know if I could ever be more excited. Happy Jonas Brothers Day!

The journey to where I want to be includes writing a lot of words and eating a lot of fries.
