Your Bigger Sister: Spice it up this Valentine’s Day…. Or Whenever!!!!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Suffolk chapter.

Well ladies, it’s that time of year again. The time when women everywhere scratch their heads (without destroying that manicure or hairstyle that took forever to get perfect, of course) to try and figure out what they can give their sweetheart that will adequately represent all the love they possess in their hearts. Fear not, ladies! Your Bigger Sister is here to help….

Why not pick the gift that keeps on giving? LINGERIE!!!!! Personally, I believe that every night is an excuse to wear lingerie, especially if you have someone to see you in it. But everyone knows that February is the month when the lingerie industry gets its biggest boom in sales, so I figured now would be the best time to share some of my insight when it comes to lingerie. If you’ve never been the lingerie type, then Valentine’s Day is a good day to start. Just as Plus Model Magazine Shopping Editor, Alissa Wilson says, “every woman should own lingerie that makes [their partner] weak in the knees and most importantly, lingerie that makes you feel confident, sexy and in charge.” And being single is not an excuse… Always be prepared!

Firstly, don’t give me the “but-they-never-have-my-size” excuse because that never works with me. Today, I’m going to bust the myth that we bigger girls don’t have what it takes to spice things up in the bedroom. I’m going to share some of my favorite pieces that I can guarantee will leave them drooling.

If you are new to this, the bra and pany set is the easiest way to go. It’s simple, easy to put together and still sexy. And you can always mix and match the various pieces. If you are feeling a bit more adventurous, try the corsets and waist cinchers. Not only do they help shape your silhouette, “the girls” will look absolutely tantalizing thanks to the extra support.

Chemise, body stocking and babydolls are a great way to add a little something extra to what you already have. Throw them over your bra- and panty-set, or simply rock them just like that… whatever floats your boat!

No outfit is ever complete without the right accessories, and the same goes for your lingerie. A pair of sexy heels and thigh high stockings with garters can give your look that additional oomph that it needs to drive your partner crazy. Add some body jewelry, blindfolds, massage oils, handcuffs or a whip and there you have the perfect recipe for a great night.

And finally, when all else fails, take it back to your childhood days when you could be anything you wanted to be just by dressing up. Play into their fantasy whether they are a sick soldier in the army hospital and you are the nurse who brings them back from the brink of death, or you are simply a sexy school girl; make their dreams come true.

Buying lingerie can be really daunting task, but it is totally worth it. I hope I have provided you with sufficient inspiration. Below is a link to some of my favorite lingerie destinations, feel free to visit the stores to find something that appeals to you. And whatever you choose to do, be confident and be sexy!
