Things To Do Halloween Weekend

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Suffolk chapter.

Halloween weekend for some, means 3 days filled with parties and different costumes, trying your best to be as original as possible. For others looking for something a little different though, here’s some of the best things to do other than partying.

  1. Head up to Salem – If you have the opportunity and the transportation, try taking a trip to Salem, Massachusetts where the Salem Witch Trials took place. This is not just a place that serves up some history, but it also has a lot of other tourist-y Halloween things to do as well.

  1. Pumpkin Palooza at the Lawn on D –  All day long on October 28th, the Lawn on D is hosting a Pumpkin Palooza filled with live music, games, and activities for all. Not only is the Lawn on D one of the best Instagram spots in the city, but it also has a lot to do if you are looking for some last minute fall fun.

  1. Boston Costume Dash 5K-  Also on the 28th at 9am, is the third annual Costume Dash 5K that starts in Copley Square and ends in the Boston Commons. Come check out some of these runners all decked out in their Halloween best! After the run, there will be a party at the finish line that includes a costume contest, followed by a pub crawl (if you are 21).

  1. Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular –  For those looking for a fun family night out, this is certainly it. Every year at the Roger Williams Park Zoo in Rhode Island, hundreds of pumpkins are carved and then lit up at night for a cool walking tour. The pumpkins display different celebrities, popular symbols, movie scenes, and even animals. Everyone in the family will definitely enjoy this event if you are willing to make the drive!

  1. Relax!! – Odds are, if you are reading this, you probably are a college student that just finished a very long and draining exam week. Why not use that as your excuse to stay in this weekend, binge watch Stranger Things season two, Halloween horror movies, and Halloweentown? Complete that with cookies and some of your besties and what more could you need this Halloween weekend?
