After the insane winter that Boston experienced, everyone was extremely excited to head to their favorite stores to pick up some new spring clothes. HC editor Mackenzie shares her favorite pieces!

The openness of the blazer (H&M) and the zippers makes it more versatile to wear than a regular blazer. J. Brand tank tops (underneath) are a bit on the pricier side, but can be worn for any occasion, making them worth every penny.

This season, it’s all about denim. Tuck away your skinny jeans (as painful as it is), and follow Mackenzie’s lead and start rocking bell-bottoms (Rag and Bone via intermix) and boyfriend jeans (Blank NYC via Lit Boutique). A good denim shirt (Rails) can be worn for any season. Add in a piece of stone jewelry like the necklace shown above (Lucky Brand) to cover two trends in one outfit. The gold sandals (Circus by Sam Edelman, below) accent the necklace perfectly.

If you’re too scared to part with your skinny jeans, these boyfriend jeans by Blank NYC are a good choice. Because they’re “skinny” boyfriend jeans, they aren’t as baggy as standard boyfriend jeans. However, a good heel is still important to wear with them, like Mackenzie’s from Sam Edelman. These items paired with the black and white tank (Jack by BB Dakota, available at Crush Boutiques) create a fun, casual spring outfit.

A denim jacket (Brandy Melville) is a great transition piece from winter to spring– we highly recommend light washes, making denim-on-denim pairing easier. While you might think flannels are strictly for fall, this one that Mackenzie bought (Rails) is super soft, not heavy, and comes in spring-friendly colors. Available at Crush Boutique.

Nothing says warm weather quite like a crop top. Mackenzie bought this one when she was in Australia, but you can find a similar one here. The crop top balances out the flare of the Rag and Bone bell-bottoms, and the Splendid flats are a great go-to option to complete the look for those of you who hate walking in heels!

Mackenzie’s absolute favorite piece for spring? Easy.

This jacket (Blank NYC) is all about the details. The zippers create an edgy look when paired against the bright pink, and it’s a fun option to wear when going out instead of the standard leather jacket.

Mackenzie's the name, Campus Correspondant for Suffolk is my game.
