Pheromone Party Anyone?

Pheromone: a secreted chemical factor in all of us that triggers a social response in others. These chemicals can impact people around us.

We have all heard of love at first sight…but love at first scent!? No need to waste any more time “hottie hunting,” because here is the newest craze to meet new guys/girls…attend a pheromone party!

Pheromone Party/Dating: This is what you do. Wear a cotton t-shirt for three nights in a row (ew, I know. Don’t hate; I didn’t make up the rules). Go to a party with your “worn-for-three-nights-t-shirt” and pay a $30 fee. Put your t-shirt in a numbered zip lock bag at the front door (blue bags for guys, pink bags for girls), then wait and see who is attracted to your scent! Oh, one more thing: pose for a pic holding your t-shirt. After everyone has time to check out your scent and picture, potential guys/girls can decide whom they’re attracted to and want to meet.

Missed finding your perfect match at the party? No problem! A Facebook album is created where all of the t-shirt owners and their t-shirts are tagged.

Hmm…not sure how exciting it is to sniff a guy’s t-shirt that he’s worn for three days? It’s your choice, but many say it’s a fun way to meet and start talking!

My name is Alexa Mellardo and I am currently a sophomore and Broadcast Journalism major at Suffolk University, located in the heart of one of the most charming cities in the world: Boston. Originally from Connecticut, Erica attends Suffolk University in Boston, Massachusetts. She is a senior, majoring in public relations, and minoring in marketing. She founded Suffolk's chapter of Her Campus along with co-Campus Correspondent, Mackenzie Newcomb. has interned at a few start-up companies including Quincy Apparel and Good to Go Organics. She was also a public relations intern at Regan Communications Group, and is currently the advertising/marketing intern at The Improper Bostonian Magazine. Erica also works on Newbury Street at Jack Wills University Outfitters, a British clothing company that is expanding across America. She is very interested in the world of fashion, and hopes to make it big doing marketing/PR for a fashion magazine or as a publicist in New York City or LA upon graduation. In her free time, she enjoys shopping, hanging out with friends, going to the beach, reading, writing, and dancing.
