Nick Viall: The Bachelor Who Keeps Coming Back for More

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Suffolk chapter.

Hang in there just a few months longer Bachelor fans, Season 21 of The Bachelor will premiere on Monday January 2nd, 2017! The lucky bachelor this time around is a familiar face, it is the one and only Nick Viall. Viall is the only contestant in The Bachelor history to be a runner-up not only once, but TWICE. The 36-year-old from Milwaukee was first turned down in Season 10 of The Bachelorette by Andi Dorfman who ultimately chose Josh Murray over Viall in the end. Viall, though deemed a villain on Dorfman’s season, was determined to find love and did not give up there. He then went on Season 11 of The Bachelorette, starring Kaitlyn Bristowe. Viall just showed up to Bristowe’s season and asked to be a contestant and lucky enough for him, she agreed. Despite receiving hate from other contestants who had watched him on Dorfman’s season, he made it to the final round only to be turned down again when Bristowe chose Shawn Booth instead. You’d think after losing twice, it would be time to call it quits on finding love on reality television, but not for Viall. Next, he became a contestant on Season 3 of Bachelor in Paradise. He immediately connected with Amanda Stanton from Season 20 of The Bachelor. She however chose to be with Josh Murray, whose marriage to Andi Dorfman didn’t work out. Stanton was the second girl Viall lost to Murray, but he continued to persevere. He entered a relationship with Jennifer Saviano who was also on Season 20 of The Bachelor. Ultimately, there was no happily ever after in paradise for Viall and Saviano. Three strikes and you’re out? Nope not Nick Viall. He’ll receive one more chance to find love as the newest bachelor on Season 21.

Fans were utterly shocked when Viall was revealed as this upcoming season’s bachelor. Many were hoping for of the heartthrobs rejected by Joelle Fletcher on Season 12 of The Bachelorette, Lucas Pell or Chase McNary. Whether you hate Viall from how he acted on Dorfman and Bristowe’s seasons or grew to love him on Bachelor in Paradise, this season is an absolute must watch all feelings aside! The first trailer has premiered and even though it is short, it’s enough to get you amped for the upcoming season. The trailer highlights Viall’s killer 6-pack as he is shirtless for most of it, as well as looking rather charming in a suit. It reveals that thirty single women will fight for Viall’s heart and provides a short sneak peek of all the tears and drama to come. So, will the fourth time be the charm for Nick Viall? Tune in to Season 21 of The Bachelor on ABC, Monday January 2nd at 8 P.M to see Viall’s journey to love begin!
