This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Suffolk chapter.

This week the city that never sleeps; New York, is where the top designers from all around showcase their greatest creations and hit the runway!

Designers like BCBGMAXAZRIA, REBECCA MINKOFF, HERVÉ LÉGER, LACOSTE, DKNY, CUSTO BARCELONA, DIANE VON FURSTENBERG, CAROLINA HERRERA, MARC JACOBS, TORY BURCH, MICHAEL KORS…

All took part in the 2013 Fall / Winter Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

Seems like for this Fall many designers’ minds went back to High School. Who doesnt miss those days? High skirts and plaid…

Designers never forget those little leather details. When has leather ever let someone down? Never. Leggings, skirts, or smaller pieces of leather detailing our fabulous tops.

Or why not go all out and rock some pants. But for this fall keep it loose, as seen here at Swedish designer Dagmar’s show.

Florals always helps brighten a rainy (or snowy) day.  While the flowers in the trees tremble to the ground during the Fall season, designers encourage us to keep them close.

Keeping warm in fur is a must even this autumn: Your choice; either full coats, or smaller details.
