Marsala for Fall: How to Wear the Color of the Year

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Suffolk chapter.

Last semester, I wrote an article with tips on how to dress up your look with Marsala pieces. Marsala is Pantone’s Color of the Year. With a new color set to be announced in a few months, why not take this opportunity to wear this color a few more times? Marsala is a great color for fall, and worn for any occasion. See my picks below!

Lush “Perfect” Roll Tab Sleeve Tunic: $42

Worn with leggings or jeans and flats, you’ll be comfy, stylish, and fall ready!

Genuine Suede Open Front Jacket: $55

This jacket is too cute to not buy! We’ve had mild weather this fall so far (knock on wood), but this jacket is perfect for the days where it’s a little bit chillier.

Sole Society Lux Ankle Strap Pump: $80

Worn with a black top and black midi skirt, these pumps are a great pop of color. Plus, the straps add in a fun detail!

Chelsea28 Floral Print Shift Dress: $78

A cute floral print breaks up the marsala solid. Wear with black tights and black booties for a daytime look, or take a cue from the model and wear with heels for a dressier look.

Oversized Sweater: $20

‘Tis the season for comfy sweaters. While H&M and I have different ideas about what oversized truly means, this sweater is cute nonetheless! Perfect with jeans and riding boots for a classic fall look.

Pullover Boyfriend Shirt: $40

Fall is for flannels, hands down. This one looks great oversized with jeans and sneakers for now, or rock it later with a vest and riding or Bean boots.

Drew Stripe Wrap: $34

An oversized scarf will never go out of style.  This one is great for fall because it sports the marsala colors, but broken up so it’s not an overload. Worn with a white, black or cream sweater, you can’t go wrong with this look!
