This week was a big one for the music industry. The 2017 Grammy nominations were announced on Tuesday so let’s take a look at some of the biggest categories.

 

Record of the Year:

  1. Hello – Adele
  2. Formation – Beyoncé
  3. 7 Years – Lukas Graham
  4. Work – Rihanna featuring Drake
  5. Stressed out – Twenty One Pilots

 

Album of the Year

  1. 25 – Adele
  2. Lemonade – Beyoncé
  3. Purpose – Justin Bieber
  4. Views – Drake
  5. A Sailor’s Guide to Earth – Sturgill Simpson

 

Song of the Year

  1. Formation – Beyoncé
  2. Hello – Adele
  3. I Took a Pill in Ibiza- Mike Posner
  4. Love Yourself – Justin Bieber
  5. 7 Years – Lukas Graham

 

Best New Artist

  1. Kelsea Ballerini
  2. The Chainsmokers
  3. Chance the Rapper
  4. Maren Morris
  5. Anderson .Paak

 

Best Pop Solo Performance

  1. Hello – Adele
  2. Hold Up – Beyoncé
  3. Love Yourself – Justin Bieber
  4. Piece By Piece – Kelly Clarkson
  5. Dangerous Woman – Ariana Grande

 

As you can clearly tell, Beyoncé and Adele are dominating these categories and these are only 5 of them! The competition this year is incredibly close as these artists and songs all were incredibly popular. As hard as it will be to decide a winner, Her Campus Suffolk has picked a few possible frontrunners from each category.
