Best and Worst Dressed at the Emmy’s

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Suffolk chapter.

Award season is coming and HC Suffolk is more than ready to see what some of the best looks will be this year. To kick off the long year ahead, let’s see what some of the best and worst looks of the Emmy’s were.

Best:

Donald Glover. Formally known as Childish Gambino, Donald has transitioned successfully into the world of television and film. So successfully in fact, that he was one of the Emmy’s big winners this year in more ways than one. Glover was named to several best dressed lists and we can clearly tell why! His purple suit was trend setting and suave. The yellow pocket square added the perfect drop of color to this look.

Keri Russell. Keri’s look is so different and fun that there’s no way it couldn’t make our best dressed look. The feathers add a cool touch to the see-through, skin tight look.

Julianne Hough. Honestly, when doesn’t Julianne look great?! This classic looking black dress adds a little edge with the cutouts and flowers. In addition to the dress itself, Julianne’s simple makeup perfects the entire look.

Nicole Kidman. Nicole Kidman’s Red dress compliments her skin tone perfectly and the pink shoes add a fun and flirty pop of color to the look.

Mandy Moore. I may be biased because I am obsessed with This Is Us, but Mandy looks fantastic in this gorgeous black and white ensemble. The pink lipstick is the perfect final touch to complete this outfit.

Worst:

Amanda Crew. Amanda’s outfit was one of the worst of the night. I love the sheer, body hugging looks this year, but this one just seems wrong. The ombre type color change and turtleneck just miss the mark, not to mention she just seems like she needs a brighter color lip to bring out her face. Amanda just seems lost in this dress.

Reese Witherspoon. Reese is always known to wow on the red carpet, but for me this look just seems very boring from her normal red carpet looks. She looks more like she is ready to head into the office then win awards at the Emmy’s.

Sarah Paulson. Sarah’s look seems very stiff and uncomfortable, not to mention she’s in head to toe silver with barely any pop of color. Sarah just seems to blend in a bit with this look.

Natalia Dyer. This dress just seems to swallow Natalia up. Her blue eyes compliment the green, but the dress just looks huge and wrinkled on her. There had to have been better dress options than this.

Mackenzie Davis. This dress is just all wrong. The color, the style, the shoe color. Nothing seems to complement each other well. She looks more like a napkin at a fancy restaurant then an actress.
