This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Suffolk chapter.

Still stuck in rut for a Halloween costume this year? Some costumes can be tacky and super expensive, but never fear! We at Her Campus Suffolk know you have busy lives and don’t like to waste money, so look no further. We have some awesome tips to turn your wardrobe into DIY costumes this Halloween! These pieces will even be kick ass staple pieces that you can use well after Halloween. Check out these pocket-friendly costumes ideas that will blow everyone else’s out of the water!

Amy Winehouse

Give some tribute to this soulful member of the twenty-seven club with some cheetah print! Amy Winehouse is a great way to bring out the wild side of your wardrobe by wearing high-waisted black pants from Urban Outfitters (they’re currently on sale!) and this awesome long sleeve crop top from American Apparel. Finish off your look with a pair of flats or heels of your choice, hoop earrings, and a simple beehive by adding a little tease to the crown of your head. This costume will make the Queen of Back to Black proud of your rendition!

Cara Delevingne

Ooooooh La La! Check out Cara Delevingne’s chic-Bart Simpson duo. This look can be easily replicated with a more college-student-budget-friendly outfit by Choies that will make all of you fashion gurus and Tumblr fashion lovers obsess over! Check out their comic-book inspired two-piece here and equally matching beanie here.

Wednesday Addams from The Addams Family

Where do I even begin with the perfect Miss Addams? Wednesday Addams is a classic Halloween costume, and it’s an easy one to do yourself! With the purchase of this long sleeve Peter Pan collar dress, you can easily use it during the month of December for the holidays with a messy knot and some brightly colored tights to even out the darkness of the dress. Just add some braids on Halloween night, and voilá!

Daria Morgendorffer from Daria

This classic Halloween outfit will make all your friends nostalgic for the 90s! Daria is a great costume to rock during the Halloween season simply because of all of the dry humor comments you can make and get away with because you are dressed in character. Who doesn’t love punny wit? To get this look, check out these pieces here, here, and here!
