What You Missed This Summer!

If your returning to Strathclyde, Welcome back! If your joining for your first year, Welcome! So much has happened over the summer in Glasgow and all over Scotland this summer! So if you have been away having fun in the sun, we will give you a quick catch up on hot topics that you have missed! 
XX Commonwealth Games – Glasgow 
This summer has been all about showing team spirit particularly in Glasgow thanks to the XX Commonwealth Games that were held here this summer! Hundreds of athletes travelled from all over the world to compete and to show their sporting capabilities. Some of the hot names were Tom Daley and Ussain Bolt. Not mention there was endless fun celeb spotting such as Rebecca Adlington at Jucie Garden. 
The Scottish Referendum 
This summer the world focused in on Scotland on deciding whether Scotland should be an independent country. It was amazing to see how the whole world was watching and how the decision of the Scottish people would make sure a global impact. 
T in the Park 
Was this summers biggest music festival in Scotland with lots of well known artists on the main stage and lots of up and coming newcomers that kept everyone dancing all night. 
Edinburgh Fringe Festival 
The capitals biggest arts and music festival with hundereds of shows performing daily throughout Edinbrugh! And if you missed out not to worry you can catch in again next year! 
Ryder Cup 2014 
The Ryder Cup is a biennial men's golf competition between teams from Europe and the United States. The 40th Ryder Cup Matches were held from 26–28 September 2014 at the Gleneagles Hotel in Perthshire, Scotland. This was the second time that Scotland hosted the Ryder Cup . Europe were the defending cup holders, having defeated the USA in 2012 at Medinah. Europe won the 2014 competition to retain the Ryder Cup.
