The world has gone mad for burgers. Situated on almost every corner of every city, burger joints cater for the perfect hang out with friends for lunch, a break from the stresses of the office by indulging in some comfort food or taking your loved one out for a casual dinner Originating from and inspired by fast food chains such as MacDonald’s and Burger King, we prefer to now dine in an environment with a more luxury, up-market ambience when we crave some greasy treats. Additionally, it also provides an opportunity for a sassy Instagram post, which we have all pled guilty to at some point in our lives.

Consequently, I have tried out many of the gazillion burger restaurants that are situated in Glasgow now. My first being Bread Meats Bread and I am in adoration of the name. This hideout was one of the original burger eateries in the city before the trend exploded. An extensive menu offering burgers inspired from all ends of the globe means everyone’s tastes are accounted for. Due to the immense portion sizes, burgers are priced individually and then you can add on a side order and of course your drink from a list of chilled beverages. (SEE FULL MENU ON LINK BELOW)

Notably the restaurant has a relaxed, cool vibe surrounding it with very friendly, chatty staff and, prominently, you can see your food being cooked with the ‘kitchen’ (a work surface running along the back wall) which is always fun to see. The aromas that circulate the restaurant are divine, the food is fresh and well prepared and the glass windows around the perimeter of the restaurant also allow for a spot of people watching.

My personal favourite from the menu is the pulled pork burger with a yummy slaw as well as the sweet potatoes fries, namely the best I have ever tasted. Likewise, the Caribbean burger is also very flavoursome and filling.

If you live in Glasgow or are visiting the city soon, this is most definitely not one to miss!
