When did you start baking?

I started baking when I was about 10. Watched my mum bake and always wanted to help by eating the cake mixture! I liked to watch cake programmes like Cake Boss. Buddy is my fave! It inspired me to do more exciting cakes rather than just plain ones.

Wow! That’s amazing, did you teach yourself?

Yes! I taught myself by practicing different designs and flavours again and again, till I got it the way I wanted it.

Does it ever get stressful?

Yes, I get stressed out if something goes wrong but I enjoy it! As I mostly make cakes for family and friends on birthdays or anniversaries!

Do you take orders?

Occasionally I do take orders, so if you would like a cake please just search my name on Facebook and pop me a message.

Do you ever think about opening your own shop?

Whenever I’m making a cake and it’s going good I always say to myself, I could have my own wee shop. Who needs a law degree, haha! But then I start stressing over it and realise I probably don’t have the patience to do it everyday. I enjoy it as a hobbie.

What’s your favourite cake?

My proudest cake has to be the Captain America birthday cake, I made it for my little sister. She is a massive Marvels fan and freaked out when she saw it. The outside of the cake was Captain Americas shield and the inside when cut looked like the American Flag.

Do you have any advice for anyone thinking about taking up baking?

If I had any advice for anyone just staring out baking it would be to practice! You won’t get it right at first but by trying it again and attempting new techniques always helps.
