Campus Style: Tartan nails by Amy

First off you will need your supplies!

I have used;

  • Barry M Gelly High-Shine Nail Polish in Watermelon
  • Barry M Textured Effect Nail Polish in Majesty
  • Barry M Nail Art Pen in White
  • Rimmel 60 Second Polish in Red

Also a small paint brush or anything with a small point a pen or pencil will also work.

Step One:

Put down your base coat of Green, two coats should be plenty.

Step Two:

Once your base coat is completely dry – this is important because in order to do the stripes for the tartan there can’t be any stickiness in the polish. Paint a single line vertically up one side of your nail towards the left side using the Red polish. Again with the red polish, towards the top of the nail paint a horizontal line across the nail. (See the picture for help)

Step Three:

Using the Gold polish repeat step two but moving towards the center of the nail. (See the picture for help)

Step Four:

Using the nail art pen draw two horizontal lines across the bottom of the nail cutting straight over the red and gold polish. (See picture for help)

Step Five:

Repeat step four again at the top of the nail, and finally draw two vertical lines on the right side of the nail, again crossing over both the red and gold polish and then the white polish. (See picture for help)
