Brand Review: Smashbox Cosmetics

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Strath chapter.

Smashbox Cosmetics is one of my beloved makeup brands! From the products pictured above, I will give you a rundown of each product and its pros and cons.

Photo Finish Primer –It is the perfect base to apply to your face underneath foundation as it blurs out pores and makes your skin look radiant! if you are planning on purchasing just 1 Smashbox product this would totally be at the top of my list. To sum it up in one word: flawless!

Be Legendary Lipstick (shade Get Fired) – This is a sheer lipstick and the colour can be intensified by applying a couple of coats to the lips, I would recommend using a lip liner with this for neater application, a red with a pink undertone similar to the shade of the lipstick.

Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara- If you have naturally long, curly lashes I would definitely recommend this mascara as it makes the lashes appear fuller and more defined.

Smashbox LA Lights Highlighter Stick-  My tips to using this product are as follows-  apply primer, foundation and concealer and then on the bridge and tip of the nose, cupids bow, cheek bones, brow bones and the inner corners of the eyes. Then set the face with a translucent powder and use a powder highlight over the highlighted areas  to intensify the glow!

Photo Top Eyeshadow Trio- This mini eyeshadow trio is perfect for travelling as it is super small and compact. The shades are neutral and also multi-purpose. The brown shades can be used as an eyeshadow and also brow powder and the light shade can be used for the inner corner of the eye and the brow bone.
