With Spring Break approaching quickly, I wanted to share some of my favorite packing tips to ensure you are able to have the best travel experience possible. From cramming as much as you can into your suitcase to money saving hacks, these are some of my favorites.

ROLL YOUR CLOTHES

Rolling your clothes not only helps save so much space in your suitcase, but also surprisingly helps prevent wrinkles.

WRINKLED CLOTHES?

Say your clothes do get wrinkled and your room doesn’t come with an iron for whatever reason. Downy Wrinkle Releaser is an excellent product to help with that. Just hang your clothes on a hanger and spray the Downy right on the article, wait a few minutes and you’re done!

Don’t Waste $$ on Tiny Toiletries

Yes, small sized products are cute and fun, but not always practical. The dollar store is SO overlooked. Go to the dollar store or Target and buy those plastic reusable toiletry bottles. Sometimes they’ll sell smaller jars for skincare products too. This also allows you to bring your favorite shower and skincare products along with you- especially if the drug store doesn’t sell the travel sizes of them.

FREE CHECKED BAGS?

Often times, airlines don’t advertise this, but many like Southwest or JetBlue offer one free checked bag. Check the fine print when booking your ticket for money saving hacks such as this. Also, check the number of carry-ons that you are allowed to bring. You may be able to get away with one overhead carry-on and one under-the-seat carry-on.

PUFFER JACKET TAKING UP TOO MUCH ROOM?

Might be time to invest in some vacuum sealed bags.

SHAPES MATTER!

Suitcase: Hard shelled suitcases are better for packing- think of it like how its easier packing things into a box than a bag.

Shoes: Definitely plan on minimizing the amount of shoes that you bring. Two ways to help pack them are 1: any leftover space in your bag when you’re done packing everything else, cram those babies in there. Don’t let any space go unused. Option #2 is to lay them like they would be in a box when you first receive them so they form a perfect square or rectangle.

Packing cubes: Packing cubes help compress your clothing into a shape that compliments your suitcase allowing you to maximize space.

Hope these tips help and happy traveling!!
