This past weekend I went to see the movie, A Simple Favor and having watched the trailer beforehand I felt a good sense of how the plot was going to go, but boy was I wrong! Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick team up as the two main characters in this movie and their chemistry on screen is exquisite. Emily Nelson, portrayed by Black Lively and Stephanie Smothers, portrayed by Anna Kendrick are both mothers and become friends when their sons ask for a playdate. Stephanie and Emily’s personality could not be more opposite, Stephanie is a YouTube vlogger and Emily works at a high-end fashion company.

Emily goes missing and Stephanie and Emily’s husband search for her. Stephanie uses her YouTube audience to help unravel the mystery and finds clues along the way. She also grows closer with Emily’s husband. Suddenly, Emily’s son says he is saw his mom, I know, what? This may be starting to sound like, your typical mystery movie, but it is not. It is pure comedy. I couldn’t stop laughing during the movie. Now I don’t want to say anything else because I don’t want to spoil the ending and because you definitely need to go and see this movie, you won’t regret it! For the record, can I just say I loved the French music used as background music throughout the movie.
