Making A Long Distance Relationship Work

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Stonehill chapter.

The school year’s back in full swing and that means many of us are back in long distance relationships. It’s time for good time management skills and zero procrastination. But… we all know that’s not the case. So here’s some ways to keep the relationship on the same summertime wave.

First, figure out your class schedules. Find free time for the two of you to just take a break from all the school work and talk. Keep this routine weekly. It gives you a way to completely separate your relationship from all your school work.

Second, besides making time for one another to talk, make time to visit each other. Whether that’s on holiday breaks or a weekend getaway, it’ll help the relationship continue to grow and prosper.

Thirdly, send little packages to one another. It can be something so simple, as a little card or a package filled with their favorite items. This keeps the relationship more personal and acts as a little reminder that “Hey, I’m thinking of you”.

Annnddd… if you want the best of both worlds, there’s this app called Rave-Watch Together. Here, you can watch the latest shows on Netflix with your significant other at the same time with the ability to also text/talk. This makes it easy to have a little ‘virtual date night’. It’s completely free and goes to show that there are so many ways to keep the fling in your long distance relationship, you just have to be willing to go for it! It’s not as hard as it looks!
