This year’s Grammy awards took place on February 12th and for sure did not disappoint! With one star-studded fabulous performance after the other it was a hard show to critique!
The dresses, however, were not so hard to critique. There was definitely a fine line of classy and trashy, a line that was unfortunately crossed by some celebs.
To begin, let’s start with the bests of the night:

Adele

Okay, I may be a little biased on this one. If “beatlemania” described the beatles groupies, then I should be a part of the “adelemania”. I just love her! Luckily, she definitely didn’t show up looking anything but perfection. The classic silhouette of her dress, the high neckline, and subtle texture throughout the gown make it an instant classic, and perfect for both her body, and her personality. She doesn’t feel the need to sexualize herself to get attention, she lets her angelic voice do that for her!

Kelly Rowland

Kelly looks great! She usually attempts something crazy with her choices and it usually backfires. This time she went for a classic look but it was inherently modern! Well done Kelly! Beyoncé and baby Blue Ivy would be proud!

Bruno Mars

When is he not looking just plain dapper? Bruno channeled his inner James Brown during his performance and made 60s music cool again. His classic put-together style hit another high note yet again.

And then, as there always is, the ones that just got it wrong.

Fergie

It pains me to put Fergie-ferg in this category because I was initially drawn to her gown choice, but upon further viewing, I just can’t get past the granny-panties under the dress. But then I thought, what would the alternative be? A thong? I definitely would not prefer that! The Grammys are the time to wear avantegard fashions, and she does have quite the figure, so should she be penalized for this dare? This dress has put me in a weird situation, and for that reason alone it is in my top worst of the night.

Katy Perry

This look is a little reminiscent of Little Bo Peep. We know from her revealing performance outfit that Katy is hiding quite the ‘bod under this frock! This dress makes her look almost twice her size!! The matchy-matchy with the hair is also a little too much.

Miranda Lambert

The nude gown tends to be almost universally unflattering. On Miranda, it just makes her look bigger than she is, and washes her out completely.

Alicia Keyes

Her proportions are a little off in this look. The breast plate is very Gladiator and cuts too high on her neckline for it to have any sense of comfort. Her feet look like they are stuffed into those shoes, which have an ankle strap which does not work with the hem length of her dress.

Nicki Minaj

What…….?

aaaand just one more to make up for all the bad:

 yep.
