Cute but PSYCHO… the new trend

This so called trend of “Cute but psycho” has dominantly been seen throughout social media with an abundance of positive connotations depicted around it. Twitter, Instagram, and VSCO have become big advocators of this trend. We see this within our daily lives whether it is sarcastic or not, our generation has become fond of this idea. Teenagers across social media are expected to portray this image. It withholds this idea that women are powerful and can act however they please, without a consequence, seeing as though they would fit into this cute but psycho trend.

7 Ways to decide whether or not you fit in with this trend:

  1. You’re left on read for 2 hours but act like it’s an eternity
  2. You check snap maps constantly throughout your day
  3. You see someone special in a snap story and replay it repeatedly until you find out where they are, what they are doing, and who they are with
  4. You go through someone’s followers on social media
  5. You are constantly checking to see who they recently followed
  6. You check to see who liked their picture and who’s pictures they have liked
  7. You have their passwords, whether it be to their phone or even as miniscule as their email

If you fit into any of these categories, hey you might be cute but psycho. However, in this generation it’s not a bad thing… you’re just following the trend!
