October has finally arrived and we all know what that means: costumes, candy, and scary movies! Since Halloween is fastly approaching, I wanted to give you a list of movies that will make you go ”WTFrankenstein.” The WTF moment might be sparked by an event that scares you, makes you mad, confuses you, or simply throws you for a twist. If you are up for a challenge I suggest watching all four movies back to back, and let me know if you sleep well throughout the night.
1. HUSH
Hush is not the average thriller. The movie starts off with introducing a young deaf woman, who is an author that lives in the woods all alone. Her world of peace and quiet gets shaken up when a masked stranger arrives on her cabin porch. I don’t want to spill any tea but let’s just say your actions speak louder than words. The unfolding of this movie will surely have you saying WTF.
2. Would You Rather
I’m pretty sure we have all played a game or two of would you rather. So we all know how this game goes, right? Well in this particular thriller it take takes would you rather to a whole new level. The main character Iris, and seven others, participate in a sick version of this twisted game. They all have heartfelt reasons to play the cruel game and to become champions to take home a large sum of money. The whole entire movie can make you say WTF, however the ultimate WTF will leave you mind boggled. It will go from one extreme to another, you either love it or you will hate it.
3. Devil
The queen of all queens, Beyonce Knowles, once said “ Of course sometimes sh*t goes down when there’s a billion dollars on the elevator.” She may be right, but things can go down even when money is not a factor. In this Netflix movie, five strangers begin their day with a normal elevator ride at the office. This particular elevator ride goes down a little quicker than it should.The elevator gets stuck, and the trapped passengers, who only expected to be together for a few minutes, now begin revealing their secrets and inner struggles. The intensity of this elevator ride builds as some unexpected events starts to unfold that literally leaves some of the occupants gasping for air. The passengers began to realize what they are experiencing is beyond morality. They are left trying to figure out who is the killer and which is the devil in disguise. You can guess what this thriller is going to make you say, so I won’t even go into more details.
4. The Ward
This movie is hard to explain without giving away all of the WTF moments. I’ll just give you the facts and you will have to watch to see why it has made a spot on the WTF list. I would like to point out that if you are a psych major, you would LIVE for this type of thriller. A young girl named Kristen awakes in a psychiatric hospital after setting a farmhouse on fire. She finds herself being stalked or haunted by an unknown presence. She often suffers from memory loss, and comes off as very fragile. Kirsten attempts to make friends with other patients Sarah, Iris, Emily, and Zoey. The more she is being treated for her condition the more this ghostly presence put up a fight. At night is usually when the phantom began to terrorize Kristen, which had her screaming and kicking into the darkness. As the plot thickens, each of her fellow patients begin to vanish. Kristen is determined to solve the problem in this psychiatric hospital, but by the end of this suspenseful thriller she will discover more than what she bargained for.
