Just like Her Campus Stockton, there’s a another new girls club in town. A club that is all about girl empowerment and sisterhood across the globe. What I’m talking about is She’s the First, and starting just this semester, we finally have a chapter at Stockton. I’m so excited about this not only because I’m the founding president, but because every Stockton student now has the ability to make a difference and help sponsor a girl’s education in a low income country!

Although it sounds huge (which it is), what you can do to help is easy as pie. Or rather a tie dye cupcake!

To celebrate the International Day of the Girl, on October 11th, She’s the First Stockton will be starting the #BakeaChange campaign. By selling handmade tie dye cupcakes and an assortment of other treats we will donate 100% of the profits to a girl in need so she can be the first in her family to be educated. By helping to educate a girl you give her the ability to help delay an early marriage, resist domestic abuse, earn higher wages and break the cycle of poverty! Just think, by picking up a cupcake on your way by I-Wing you can help shape a girl’s future and make sure she isn’t the last to change the world.

Come out and support Stockton’s She’s the First chapter this Wednesday, October the 12th, and buy a cupcake for a great cause. Feel free to even sign up, new members are always welcome!
