7 Songs All About Girl Power

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Stockton chapter.

In honor of National Women’s History Month, here are seven fun, girl power songs we love that will empower and motivate you no matter what is thrown your way:

1. Little Mix – “Wings”

You’ll love to dance to this upbeat jam about growing up and spreading your (metaphorical) wings.

2. MisterWives – “Not Your Way”

MisterWives shatters stereotypical gender roles while empowering you to be the best version of yourself in this lyrically-profound song with an upbeat chorus you can’t resist singing and dancing to.

3. Gwen Stefani – “What You Waiting For?”

Stuck in a rut? This is the song for you. Proceed with caution as it will definitely be stuck in your head for the entirety of your day.

4. Beyoncé – “Flawless”

A Beyoncé song about feminism, gender equality and self love. Need I say more?

5. Rachel Platten – “Fight Song”

An anthem that serves as a reminder that even when you think you’ve lost, you’re still capable of success.

6. Fifth Harmony – “BO$$ (BOSS)”

Fifth Harmony encourages independence and achieving your goals in this feminist anthem.

7. Britney Spears – “Work B**ch”

Aside from the music video portraying Britney just being Britney along with some derogatory language, the lyrics actually hold an important reminder: If you want something, you have to give it your all and work for it.
