Every student who attends Stockton University knows that there are several things that all students mutually struggle with. Whether it is finding something to eat on campus or hanging out with your friends on the weekends, we have all been in these situations where the odds have not been in our favor. As a sophomore at Stockton, I have had the privilege of experiencing some of these wonderful struggles. Here are some of the many problems that Stockton University students face on the daily.
1) Having to walk alone outside late at night thinking you will be killed by the Jersey Devil in the woods
2) Dodging endless vehicles that drive on the sidewalk
3) Running for the Stockton shuttle
4) Getting the same food every time you go to either The Campus Center, Au Bon Pain, or The Lodge
5) Indulging in wayyyy too much Ben & Jerry’s
6) Waking up for an 8:30am class
7) Drinking A LOT of Dunkin’ Donuts
8) And getting super jittery from The Bean’s List coffee
9) Having no one to hang out with on the weekends because pretty much everyone leaves campus to go home
10) Trying to keep dirt from dragging into your apartment if you live in The Courts on Lakeside is next to impossible
11) Having your clothes taken out of the dryer before they were supposed to be done
12) Laundry day in general is always a mess because of all the weeks you have been putting it off
13) Having to run from your 12:30pm class to your 12:45pm and still find time for a lunch of some kind
14) Having random people look into your first floor apartment when you have your curtains open
15) When your card won’t swipe properly at the food check out and you just look at the cashier like
16) When your friend makes fun of how many meal swipes you used on one food purchase
17) Trying to fall asleep on the first floor at 1:00am when the people above you stomp around their apartment like raging animals
18) Registering for classes on the Stockton Portal. Enough said.
As much as college can be a struggle, we all find that at the end of the day we are happy to be at the school we have chosen. I love Stockton University with all my heart and I hope this list of struggles made you feel less alone on campus. Have a beautiful day!
