Campus Spotlight:Kevin Chow

Major:Materials Science and Engineering

What are you most involved with on campus?
I’m involved with the Stanford Concert Network, in charge of planning, publicizing, and producing all-campus concerts.  To give you an idea of the kinds of shows we put together: this year we had Das Racist, Steve Aoki, Kid Sister, and Super Mash Bros., and last year we booked L.A. Riots, Designer Drugs, Yeasayer, and Afroman.  It’s been a really cool experience learning about all sides of the music industry, from marketing to live mixing.  I’m also involved with the Stanford GreenStore, which sells eco-friendly products like recyclable cups and laundry detergent, and the Stanford Energy Club, an umbrella organization for students interested in developing clean energy.

Smith Westerns – Weekend.  Also, Siriusmo and Tokimonsta on repeat.

What’s your favorite memory at Stanford so far?
Drinking on the roof of my old dorm at sunset with my closest friends.

Never take yourself too seriously.

I want to bring back Confucius, so that he can become my personal life coach and spiritual guru.
