The Other Guys

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at St. Andrews chapter.

This is the first in a series of articles profiling the many amazing A Cappella groups St Andrews has.

The Other Guys bill themselves as Scotland’s premier all male A Cappella group. They shot to national fame in 2011 with their youtube single Royal Romance. I’ve listened to it so often that every time I hear Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance I think she is singing the lyrics wrong.

The Other Guys were founded in 2004 and continue to mix contemporary songs with classical A Cappella techniques. Their main goal is to entertain their audiences. According to their website, their reputation is ‘synonymous with great harmony, great humor, and some suspect dance moves.’

They have released two albums, 2009’s Well Sung and 2011’s Barely Regal. In 2012 they released the charity single St Andrews Girls in aid of Breast Cancer Research.

You can see The Other Guys at many events around St Andrews and around the country. In the mean time check out their website, Twitter, and Facebook for more information.
