What does Saint Vincent College mean to you?

This week here at Saint Vincent College is homecoming! Homecoming filled with a ton of fun activities, good friends, and awesome memories. I decided it would be a cool idea to survey my fellow collegiate’s and ask them what Saint Vincent means to them!

Claire Hanna, Junior (Foreign Exchange Student)

“It means a new country, culture, and lifestyle. The opportunity to experience a college education different from what I’m used to. The small community feel and welcoming attitude of the students makes it already feel like a home away from home”

Dylan Pietrantoni, Junior

“Saint Vincent means family. I made some of the best friends I could possibly want here and I really feel that it’s my second home. There is no community as welcoming as the Saint Vincent one and I’m proud to be a part of it!”

Zack Kocak, Senior

“Saint Vincent is family and love all wrapped in one.”

Teresa Yanicko, Junior

“My brother and sister both graduated from here, so it’s just become another home. I really just couldn’t think of anywhere else I would want to be.”

Anna Sowinski, Sophomore

“It means being home, being appreciated for who you are. Your dreams, future plans, it all matters here. Saint Vincent means excelling to better yourself while surrounding yourself with positive energy. SVC is a place for growth and admiration. “

Rachel DiLeo, Junior

“It means a close knit family; peers who are like brothers and sisters who always want the best for one another.”

Taylor Coyne, Junior

“ I guess would said that to me, Saint Vincent College means home away from home. It’s a comfortable environment where everyone comes together as one big family; you can’t get that feeling from just anywhere.”

Calsey Holshue, Sophomore

“It’s a place where you’re always surrounded by friendly people. I’ve met people that are unforgettable and will always hold a friendship with. Being a part of two athletic teams (soccer and lacrosse), also gives me a ton of friends right off the bat, and is just like one big family. Everyone is always pushing you to do your best and loves to see you succeed.”

Maggie Czapski, Junior

“Saint Vincent is my favorite place to be! It’s where I met my closest friends and where I learned how to be a better person through God. There are truly no bad days at St Vincent. It’s my second home.”

Matt DeMaio, Senior

“I love it here. It means a small group of friends. We all strive to make a positive difference in the world, and I think we’re going to do that.”

As you can see from the comments above, Saint Vincent means a lot to all of us. It’s our second home, and just one big family. Homecoming is the special time where family comes home, and you can just feel the magic in the air! Spend your time here wisely, it’s sure to fly by; I’m sure we will all hear that from alumni this weekend.

Happy Homecoming, Bearcats! Thanks for picking Saint Vincent to be your second home.

St Vincent '18

Hello there! I am the Campus Correspondent of the Her Campus chapter at Saint Vincent College. As a senior psychology major, I've made the most of my time in undergrad and am excited for all the doors I have opening ahead of me. I can definitely thank Her Campus for giving me invaluable skills. As a future psychologist, I hope that my articles (and the chapter's) are able to make you feel empowered, motivate you to start a conversation, and be kind. As a hero of mine has said, "If you do not take control over your time and your life, other people will gobble it up. If you don't prioritize yourself, you constantly start falling lower and lower on your list."- Michelle Obama. Be the change you want to see in the world, and smile. Always smile!
