VSCO has become such an uplifting social media platform for girls in a society that views social media as a potential gateway to cyberbullying, negative comparisons, insecurities, and so much more. Rather than worrying about what to post on Instagram that will get the most likes or comments, VSCO allows you to post what you want without the expectations. Not only this, but since VSCO users are mostly girls, it advocates for girls to start supporting one another and lifting each other’s spirits. So, here’s 5 reasons why we are totally in love with VSCO being for the girls:

1. No judgement

Want to post a selfie without feeling insecure? Go for it.

Want to post 10 pictures in a row? Go for it.

Want to republish 20 pictures in a row? Go for it.

2. Seeing relatable content

VSCO has turned into one of my favorite medias for inspirational quotes or passages. Whether my friends post them or others ‘republish’ them, VSCO is a never-ending chain of motivational content that never fails to hit us in the feels.

3. VSCO is kind of like a personal scrapbook

My favorite thing to do when I find myself lying in bed at night is going through my collection of pictures on my VSCO. It’s a mixture of my friends, family, pets, quotes, selfies, etc. all in one place for me to look at. Yes, we all have a camera roll, but there is something about seeing all of your pictures edited to your liking in one place that brings me joy whenever I relive a memory from a picture.

4. No expectations

Yes, the satisfaction of getting a like or republish like any social media platform is still present, but its also not at the same time (you feel me)? Whenever I post something to my feed, its more for me to look at later on rather than see how many girls like my posts.

5. GIRLS SUPPORTING GIRLS

The !! Most !! Important !! One !!

Its hard enough being a girl in society with all of these expectations and standards that we are supposed to uphold. But VSCO just brings all over common insecurities, fears, anxieties, etc. and lets us just be a hype woman for all that we follow.

Keep posting and keep the motivational content comin’!
