Her Campus (HC): Hi Megan! We are so happy that you’re a new member of the Her Campus St Vincent team. We want everyone to see how awesome you are. Can you start by telling everyone why you chose to apply to be a member of the Her Campus St Vincent team?
Megan Miller (MM): I’ve always enjoyed writing and this seemed like a good chance to do that. Also, the girls all seem really friendly and it’ll be fun getting to know them!
(HC): We cannot wait to see how many great articles you’ll write! If you could pick one thing in your dorm room to never lose, what would that be and why?
(MM): Definitely my roommate! She’s been my best friend for 16 years and I really couldn’t live without her.
(HC): Good choice! Obviously college work takes up most of your time, but what do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
(MM): College does take up a lot of my time, but when I’m not doing my homework I really enjoy spending time with my friends and family. I watch a lot of movies when I get the chance, and I’ve always loved reading and writing. Also, sleeping.
(HC): I sure do wish we had more spare time… What about your style? How would you describe it? Do you usually plan outfits every day or are you more of a sweatpants and t-shirt type of gal?
(MM): I love planning my outfits ahead of time, but it’s not out of the ordinary to see me in sweatpants 3 days in a row either. Dressing cute for classes is fun and definitely gives me a confidence boost for the day, but I just don’t always have the motivation for it.
(HC): With Halloween coming up, what kind of costume ideas could you give our readers?
(MM): Group costumes! Halloween is a chance to dress up with your friends; you should make the most of it. I expect to see a group of Disney princesses, the whole Scooby Doo gang, the cast of Stranger Things, and the Golden Trio from Harry Potter walking around campus this year.
(HC): I really like those! If someone wanted to get you a gift for your birthday, what should they get you?
(MM): I’m too sentimental for my own good, so anything someone puts a lot of thought into, I’ll love… especially if it involves pictures!
(HC): Okay, last question, what’s something that really matters to you? I know it may be hard to pick just one thing, but what would you fight over until you couldn’t fight anymore?
(MM): I’d spend forever trying to convince someone that mental illness and physical illness deserve to be treated the same. The brain is an organ that can have legitimate problems too, and I’d fight with someone forever to make them believe that.
(HC): Thanks so much for letting me interview you, Megan! We are so happy you decided to be a part of Her Campus St Vincent and we can’t wait to read your articles. HCXO!
