We’re all leaving SVC within the next couple of days, whether it’s for three months or forever. Sure, we’ll be back soon enough, but it’s so hard to leave the place that we’ve called home for the past one to four years. I’m sure we can all agree that there is no place like SVC and will miss it for many of the same reasons:

1. We don’t want to leave the friends that have become family. One thing that can be found at Saint Vincent and not anywhere else is the community. It’s impossible to walk around campus and not feel like you have support everywhere that you turn.

2. The views….there is nothing prettier than standing on the hill between Benny and Rooney and looking at the field with the basilica in the background.

3. There’s always something do. Whether it’s an APB event or a sporting activity, there’s always something to help us procrastinate.

4. Three months is a long time. It’s nice not to have school work to do, but that’s a long time to go without your friends or your favorite place.

5. It’s home. Once a bearcat, always a bearcat.

Hello there! I am the Campus Correspondent of the Her Campus chapter at Saint Vincent College. As a senior psychology major, I've made the most of my time in undergrad and am excited for all the doors I have opening ahead of me. I can definitely thank Her Campus for giving me invaluable skills. As a future psychologist, I hope that my articles (and the chapter's) are able to make you feel empowered, motivate you to start a conversation, and be kind. As a hero of mine has said, "If you do not take control over your time and your life, other people will gobble it up. If you don't prioritize yourself, you constantly start falling lower and lower on your list."- Michelle Obama. Be the change you want to see in the world, and smile. Always smile!
