Hello everyone! I am new to Her Campus, and I wanted to incorporate Saint Vincent College into my first article since homecoming is quickly approaching! I felt that the best way to combine SVC with Her Campus was to ask some girls about their favorite things at Saint Vincent. Sorry fellas, but this is ladies choice of the best of SVC!
1.) Definitely not the caf food itself… but the overall atmosphere and welcoming feeling when you come on campus. The students and faculty are all so nice.
Some people like the caf more than others…hey at least there’s a Dunkin’ nearby! And wait, did someone say Chipotle trip? Count me in!
2.) Free stuff at APB craft nights! Who doesn’t love free stuff?
I recently got a tie-dye t-shirt, a picture frame, and some dorm décor! You can’t pass that up!
3.) I love the atmosphere. People are genuine here, and it makes the world a little bit brighter.
Um, maybe not quite that bright…
4.) The smiley cookies in the shack!
This is when Parkhurst dining services really comes in clutch.
5.) I love Wimmerfest when they light up the campus for the holidays! It’s so pretty and festive!
Not to mention I can finally see on my way to dinner since it starts getting dark at 5pm…
6.) Um.. the skunks? Seeing one always gets my adrenaline pumping that’s for sure!
If only our skunks seemed so harmless…
7.) Taking a nap on the Carey couches and then later seeing pictures your friends took of you while you were zonked! #noshame
Hey, we’ve all been there.
8.) I really like the fitness classes, especially kickboxing!
9.) Everyone knows each other because it’s such a small school. I can’t go anywhere without people saying hi to me!
10.) The professors genuinely care about us, and they don’t me feel like just a number.
11.) Is this even a question? Dougie the therapy dog!!!
12.) I like the sense of community and how easy it is to get involved.
13.) I like all my classes, even though I never stop complaining about them.
14.) Hmm. Other than my friends I’d have to say naps in the library. No, wait. Definitely Shack fries!
15.) I love Saint Vincent because it’s my favorite place to be; it’s my home away from home.
There you have it! These are just a few of the amazing things about Saint Vincent. I’m sure everyone can name at least five more things that you’ve come to love, and there’s no better time to celebrate our second home than right now. Happy homecoming!
