If someone has told you that they have never been stressed out about finals week before, they are lying to you. It is simply impossible to feel 100% ready for every exam during finals week because well, let’s be honest, there are plenty of things we all would rather be doing than studying. But, it has to be done and there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. Here are the 9 stages of finals week as told by the Her Campus Survival Kit.
Stage 1: DenialÂ
You realize that finals do not start for another week. So, you figure that if you want to go out, this would be the time to. It is the perfect time to break out your new, Michael Kors 24K gold-scented tattoos because what outfit would be complete without them?
Stage 2: Guilt
After your night out, you start to feel guilty about not studying but at the same time, you realize you should probably go to the gym. So you head out to the gym with your new Sorel water bottle in hand to get a good workout in so you can finally begin studying.
Stage 3: Struggle
It is officially time to start getting work done. You decided to pack your Ustocktrade tote with your books and folders and head to the library to get some work done. Fake smile and all, you suck it up and do something with your life.Â
Stage 4: Progress
You get a little bit of work done and then your boyfriend suggests Chipotle for dinner. It would be wrong to say no to Chipotle, so off you go. You decide that you could use a reward for all of the hard work you have put in.Â
Stage 5: Distraction
You need something to take your mind off work for just a little bit and your bed looks so comfortable. So you sit and read #ActuallySheCan Issue no. 2 and enjoy a nice, quiet night alone.Â
Stage 6: Reality
Before you know it, it’s Thursday and you have barely made a dent in the studying and papers that are due in a little under 5 days. You’re exhausted and stressed but you need to push through. A trip to the barista in the Carey Center is necessary. You grab your Vera Bradley zip ID case and head down the path.Â
Stage 7: Depression
From being so stressed, you somehow forget to find time to shower. Sadly, finals week does this to us and you’re forced to just go without a shower. Or if you are lucky, you have just enough time to wash your body. By using TRESemmé Expert Selection Perfectly Undone Sea Salt Spray, your hair will have the perfect curl to hide your bed-head.
Stage 8: Rock Bottom
It is just a matter of time before finals week comes to a close but you still have two days to go. Your face is officially a home to all of the worst blemishes you have ever had in your life. You are stressed to the max and naturally, everyone needs to know it just by looking at your face. Luckily, there is Proactiv. It is there to help clear up those breakouts and keep your skin looking fresh.
Â
Stage 9: Acceptance
It is the final day of finals. You realize that showering is a no-go and the bags under your eyes have bags. Needless to say, you are a hot mess. It is easy to grab your AdmitSee sunglasses and drawstring bag and head outside to your last final because nobody needs to see the “ugly.”Â
