It’s almost that time again…you know, the time when love is in the air and filled with everything that is red, chocolate-filled, and heart shaped. But, with Valentine’s Day creeping up on us…we often forget about the lesser-known “Galentine’s Day.” You know…Galentine’s Day, the day when we ladies step out with only our bests and celebrate how much we adore each other and our friendship! Since this day in which is to be celebrated on February 13th was coined by Leslie Knope… how else is better to show you how to spend your day than by the woman herself! Check out some of the ways the ladies of Parks & Recreation kick off their Galentine’s Day in style below!
1. Kick off the day with brunch!
Complete with endless amounts of waffles and whipped cream. There’s nothing that us ladies love more than a good brunch after a nice night of sleep. Pick a place and time to enjoy the holiday the way it was meant to be spent. Mimosas anybody?
2. Exchange gifts!
It’s always nice to show the ones you love that you appreciate them. Try giving your bestie a gift that is special and unique to your friendship. Bonus points if you made it yourself!
3. Watch tons of chick flicks!
Nothing says girls’ night like cheesy romantic comedies! Tip: be sure to make tons of snacks leading up to the event so you can enjoy them over the movies!
4. Did somebody say wine tasting?
Class up your Galentine’s Day and “Treat Yo Self” to a few nice glasses of fancy wines. Add some cheese to the event and before you know it, you’ll find yourself caught up in the moment with your gal pals over delicious drinks!
5. Get Crafting!
With websites like Pinterest and Etsy on the rise there are endless amounts of fun to be had. Try decorating cute matching wine glasses for each of your friends!
6. Last but certainly not least…end the day with a sleepover!
Sing & dance to a few songs, pour yourselves a few drinks and stuff your faces with endless amounts of snacks. Add some games to the mix and you’ll surely be in for a treat! Now’s the time to reminisce about the good times of the past and all that is to come. It’s simply the perfect end to the perfect day!
