Teeming with some of the best new music in the country, the local Minnesota music scene also has a heart for philanthropy. As evidenced by two releases by Minnesotan musicians, these artists are exemplifying ‘Minnesota nice’ by recognizing the power of music to garner support for worthy causes. The Minnesota Beatle Project Vol. 2n  and the Think Out Loud compilation feature a slew of local musicians using music to make a difference.Â
The Minnesota Beatle Project counts amongst its contributors P.O.S., Soul Asylum, and Total Babe. These artists have come together, on the second disc in the project, to support music and arts programs in Minneapolis public schools. Think Out Loud,  which seeks to raise funds to eradicate homelessness, features more wonderful local artists such as Cloud Cult and Trampled by Turtles.
