Hey y’all!

Now that summer has quickly disappeared, fall rain has taken over. You can use this wet weather to your advantage and dress in your most stylish rain gear. There are many routes you can go, but always keep in mind the temperature outside. Here are a few ideas of what you can wear as these drizzly days continue:

Jackets

If you like to keep things simple, go with a solid colored rain jacket. Any hue works! But if fall is your inspiration, look for darker shades. Be sure your jacket is insulated for the colder days. Some jackets come with removable liners, so if you plan to use your jacket year round, that could be your pick.

Want something more interesting? Wear a patterned jacket! These are perfect pairs to solid colored rain boots. Once again, be aware of the liner, making sure it is warm enough for the colder days ahead.

And if you are looking for something different than the average Ole, consider a long jacket. Attending a formal event? These jackets are a great addition to your outfit. They could even BE your outfit! Leggings and boots, a dress and flats, jeans and sneakers: long jackets are quite versatile.

Boots

Just like jackets, a solid color works for a basic boot. Most rain boots do not come insulated; so make sure you have a pair of warm socks on hand. And as I have experienced, tall boots are much more reliable than short ones. Water is less likely to seep through and you can definitely do puddle jumping with the taller protection.

Once again, if you are feeling bolder, look for a patterned boot! These go will most solid jackets, so no need to worry. And although patterns are less versatile, they without a doubt make a statement. They could be a staple addition to your wardrobe.

Umbrellas

Umbrellas come in many different shapes and sizes. They are also quite cheap compared to other rain gear, so you can easily own multiple! A clear umbrella goes with anything: formal, casual, colored, patterned – you name it.

Looking for a pattern? Here is a floral umbrella, but really the options are unlimited. And be sure to keep in mind the size of your umbrella. A large one is guaranteed to keep you (and even your friends) dry, but once indoors that means lugging around a large, wet item. An umbrella too small is just useless. Find the right size and pattern that works for you!

Rain does not have to dampen your day! Dress with your favorite waterproof styles and you are set. Choose a jacket, some boots to match, and your best umbrella. Any combination works; just remember: only you can rock your look!

Stay stylish, Oles! xoxo
