Mmm Ya Ya: Sexy Spring Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at St Olaf chapter.

It’s finally come down to it- the final few days before Spring Break. The last couple of crazy-hectic class periods where profs try to squeeze in ALL of the exams before we purge our brains of anything academic for a week. Even with the exceptionally mild winter we have had, I am so pumped for Spring Break- I think everyone is. And this year, I want to have my sexiest Spring Break ever.

Sexiness is all about confidence. Maybe you didn’t get to the gym is often as you would have liked or couldn’t resist the chocolate cake in the Caf, and now you just feel decidedly unsexy. Stop it! Being sexy is not necessarily about who has the tightest abs or biggest boobs; it is all about attitude and flaunting what you’ve got.

Here are some tips to help you feel sexy all break, whether you will be on a beach, in the mountains, or just hanging out at home with friends and family:

1. Love yourself naked
I challenge all of my readers to stand in front of a mirror naked sometime over break, and instead of picking apart all of your body flaws a la “Mean Girls,” find five features about yourself that you love. It could be your bum, the color of your eyes, the way your hair looks, how your collar bones frame your chest- anything. But find them and focus on them. It may be hard at first, but once you do it, it is an insta-confidence booster.

2. Go talk to that guy (or girl)
You know, the one that you have been making eyes at all day or night, the one you think you have no chance with? Talk to him/her. You have absolutely nothing to lose, especially on Spring Break- if you really end up making a fool of yourself (unlikely), then you never have to worry about awkwardly seeing him around campus the next week. More likely, you will end up striking up a great conversation and have a really fun time, no regrets!

3. Don’t be easy
Spring Break has a reputation for being the ultimate in trashy college get-aways, which is super fantastic- go be crazy! But you don’t want to be the girl at the party who alternates between hanging on every guy and hugging the toilet. Pace yourself, have fun, and be the girl who gets to leave with the boy and have an awesome night that you actually remember.

I hope that you all have the chance to feel sexy and confident during your break. Don’t forget to laugh often, dance like crazy, and love yourself!

Stay sexy St. Olaf, and have a fantastic Spring Break!
H.
