Merry Christmas Movie Watching!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at St Olaf chapter.

Happy December, everyone! And you know what December means? CHRISTMAS MOVIES. There are so many classics out there, but I want to share the ones I can’t go each holiday without watching.

Home Alone

“I made my family disappear.”

I can never get enough of little Kevin sassing off to his parents, going grocery shopping alone and fighting off criminals.

Elf

“This place reminds me of Santa’s Workshop! Except it smells like mushrooms and it looks like everyone wants to hurt me.”

Welcome to New York, Buddy.

Christmas with the Kranks

“You’re skipping Christmas?! Isn’t that against the law?”

It should be against the law to think a cruise is more important than the Christmas season. But don’t worry, the Kranks definitely get their share of hate for choosing to “skip Christmas” in order to pay for a Caribbean cruise instead.

Christmas Vacation

“We’re kicking off our fun old fashion family Christmas by heading out into the country in the old front-wheel drive sleigh to embrace the frosty majesty of the winter landscape and select that most important of Christmas symbols.”

… Clark Griswold’s excitement doesn’t stop until after he’s strung 25,000 lights, sled with cooking oil, got locked in the attic in an attempt to hide presents… just watch the movie. It’s very hard to sum up this man in a few sentences.

A Charlie Brown Christmas

“That’s what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown.”

Linus and his blanket will melt your heart every year.

If you can squeeze at least one of these movies in the next few weeks, I’m sure you will be put in a good mood. And I think we all need that as we finish the semester.
