Cooking on Campus: Spooky pretzel bites

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at St Olaf chapter.
When I think of fall, two things stick out: candy corn and Thanksgiving. As soon as the leaves start changing, I start thinking about candy corn. My friends and I constantly have bags of candy corn in our rooms and with us at all times. Since I love it so much, I am always looking for ways to incorporate it into recipes, like the Monster Munch I made last week. So when I found these pretzel bites with candy corn, I knew I had to make these for my next recipe. These pretzel bites took maybe 30 minutes to make, and they were almost all gone by 10:00 that night. Just like the Monster Munch from last weekend, these pretzel bites would make great Halloween goodies for your friends. Wrap them up in a festive Halloween bag and you have yourself a easy, homemade Halloween treat for your friends.

All you need is:

  • Pretzels- I used snaps (the square ones) but you can also use the normal pretzel shaped ones as well
  • Hershey kisses- any kind you want (I used milk chocolate)
  • Candy corn
  1. Preheat oven to 350. Arrange pretzels laying flat on a cookie sheet covered with tin foil or parchment paper.
  2. Unwrap Hershey kisses and place on top of the pretzel.
  3. Bake in the oven for 3-5 minutes. You will know they are ready when the kisses start looking glossy
  4. ASAP as you take the pretzels out of the oven place a candy corn on top of the kiss, using your finger to gently press into the soft chocolate.
  5. Let the chocolate cool before serving.

Enjoy!
