Every holiday has its traditions. Thanksgiving, however, holds a special place for me and my family, as it is a holiday centered around the one thing that we do best…eat. On this day millions of families will gather to give thanks, share a meal, and inevitably take a power nap. Over the years, certain recipes have become staples of the Thanksgiving feast and everyone has their favorites. Let’s see what your favorite Thanksgiving dish says about you!

  1. Turkey

It only feels right to begin this list with the ultimate Thanksgiving dish, because what’s Thanksgiving without the turkey? If the turkey is your favorite thing on the menu at Thanksgiving then you, and this dish, will never go out of style. While some may think of you as basic, this would be a major oversight on their part. You are classic and timeless. You are probably the “planner” when it comes to your relationships. Like the turkey at Thanksgiving, you are the glue that holds everything together.

  1. Stuffing

If stuffing is your favorite dish then you are definitely an extrovert. Some may even describe you as the life of the party. Everybody knows who you are, and you are well-liked in addition to being well-known. Just like stuffing, you are a mixture of ingredients that are all very different, yet somehow complement each other perfectly. You always know how to keep people on their toes.

  1. Casserole

If a casserole is what you are reaching for at the dinner table, some may describe you as a deep thinker. Like a casserole, you have many layers to you. You are a very complicated person, and might not open up to people when you first meet them. But, in no way does this mean that you are basic or boring. Once you are comfortable, you let your true colors shine and are very fun to be around. Just like a Thanksgiving casserole, you are a total wildcard.

  1. Gravy

Much like the gravy at Thanksgiving, you can go with anything and everything. You are best described as a social butterfly. You are able to fit in seamlessly with any group. It is most likely that you have a wide range of good friends rather than one or two “best friends”. You are bubbly, outgoing, and capable of making friends with just about anyone.

  1. Mashed Potatoes

While some dishes are only eaten once a year on Thanksgiving itself, mashed potatoes are a recipe that hits the spot all year round. If mashed potatoes are at the top of your list, then you could be described as steady and consistent. You are predictable, which some may find boring. However, this assumption totally overlooks your best qualities. In terms of relationships, you always have people’s backs. Your friends and family can always count on you, which, in the end, is something that makes you indispensable.

  1. Brussell Sprouts

If you can’t live without the Brussell sprouts at Thanksgiving, you are definitely calm and very down to earth. You, like this dish, are totally underrated. You aren’t one to gossip or get involved in petty drama, and you aren’t afraid to be authentically yourself. You are a very good listener and give great advice. You are confident, strong, and a great friend.

  1. Apple Pie

Just like apple pie, you are totally sweet. If apple pie is what’s on your mind throughout Thanksgiving dinner, you are definitely “the mom” of your friend group. You are nice, fun, and love to help everyone. You never have a bad thing to say about anyone, and everyone looks to you for some positivity. You are always there for the people that you love, and provide amazing emotional support (just like apple pie and ice cream do).

  1. Cranberry Sauce

If cranberry sauce is your favorite thing on the table at dinner, you can best be described as quirky. When people first meet you, they may be quick to judge you based on your differences. However, if they can’t handle you it’s their loss because you are a ton of fun. You are bright, loud, and different in the best ways. You aren’t for everyone, but those who love you can’t live without you.

  1. Brussels Sprouts

If you can’t live without the brussels sprouts at Thanksgiving, you are calm and very down to earth. You, like this dish, are totally underrated. You aren’t one to gossip or get involved in petty drama, and you aren’t afraid to be authentically yourself. You are a very good listener and give great advice. You are confident, strong, and a great friend.

  1. Pumpkin Pie

Thanksgiving just isn’t Thanksgiving without a slice of pumpkin pie. If your favorite dish is pumpkin pie then you are definitely the main character. You, like the pie itself, can be described as sweet with the perfect amount of spice. You are charming and magnetic. While others may struggle for attention, socializing seems to come very naturally to you. Even after dinner when everyone’s full, nobody can resist a slice of pumpkin pie.

  1. Green Beans

If green beans are your go-to, then you probably tend to be more introverted. Those around you would describe you as quiet or reserved. However, this doesn’t mean that you are boring or bland. You are simply the strong-silent type. Your friends would probably describe you as the rock of the group. You, like green beans, help to balance out all the craziness that others bring to the table.

No matter what dish is at the top of your list this Thanksgiving, remember to give thanks, spend time with the people you love, and enjoy all the food that’s brought to the table!
