A family favorite of mine that my mom has made for years is Quaker’s Praline Pecan Crunch Snack Mix. It is a storable treat that you can snack on when you have a sweet tooth coming on, although I enjoy it more right out of the oven. It is also beyond easy and convenient to make! You are able to find the original recipe at Quaker Oats website, but we do it a bit differently in the Fradette household. The recipe is attached below!

The ingredients are close to the same as the Quaker website’s recipe, but a bit different. The Fradette recipe includes a lot of butter. We like to make our sweets to be a heart attack on a platter.
Ingredients:
-
Quaker oatmeal squares (the whole box)
-
1 cup of brown sugar
-
1 cup of butter
-
1 Bag of pecans
The process:
-
Melt the butter and brown sugar in a pan for 5 minutes until it is melted and looks like a syrup consistency.
-
Put pecans and oatmeal squares in a large bowl.
-
Pour the mixed butter and brown sugar syrup over the pecans and oatmeal squares and mix it (shake it).
-
Spread the oatmeal squares over a cookie sheet evenly.
-
Bake for 20 minutes in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
-
Take it out of the oven to cool. Once cooled, put it in a pretty bowl to serve for guests and go ahead and eat up!
I hope you try this recipe and enjoy it as much as I do! It’s one of a kind and a favorite of mine growing up. I promise it should not disappoint.
