I know we are all running on a tight budget- priorities include scavenging some dollars for the next meal and saving up gas money to make the final trek home- but a grad gift for a close friend is up there; however, you don’t need to break the bank to in order to deliver a nice present to your bestie. Things can get expensive fast… and nothing’s worse than buying or receiving an expensive gift and then it not getting put to use. Instead, make something that holds some sentimental value and can last a lifetime with some of these fun and creative ideas!

Here’s something to get the ball rollin…

SLU themed mason jar with their name or initials: This is a timeless gift; it can be used forever!

Repurpose/recycle all those old bottle tops: If you’re feelin’ super creative and crafty.. Put your old bottle caps to good use and make something that they will appreciate and cherish forever!

Anything personalized with pictures on it: Even though it might look kinda cheesey, these are the best types of gifts to receive. You know the person put so much effort and time into it and you can keep these babies forever. Its always an awesome gift to look back on and reminisce.

A box with your favorite memories inside: Customize this box! Paint it, decorate the outside, and fill it with your favorite memories for a nice reminder. Notes, concert tickets, pictures, souvenirs… You decide.

Decorated mug/wine glass: A personalized mug or wine class will always be used. You can’t go wrong with something like this and it’s something they will keep forever.

Scrapbook/Memory Board/Picture Collage: A scrapbook, memory board, or photo collage makes for a particularly memorable graduation gift! It’s awesome to have all your memories in one place. They say, a picture is worth a thousand words- so if you find yourself to have a lack of words, a bunch of pictures could help ya out.

Thoughtful card: Cards are SO underappreciated, but if you take the time to make it heartfealt, it can definitely go a long way… especially if you write a long note to someone with flashbacks to awesome memories and old stories.

Their favorite quote in picture frame: You can get creative with this! It’s also a great gift for some post grad apartment decor for their walls!

Signed wooden initials: Pick up some wooden initials at your local walmart and paint them. Have their close friends sign them so they can leave with some nice notes and great memories.
