WARNING: Spoilers ahead

Love is Blind Season 3 premiered on October 19th, 2022. The newest season launched with fresh faces trying to successfully come out of this out-of-the-ordinary experiment married. This season works the same as the ones before, 15 men and 15 women enter the Love is Blind experiment in hopes of finding their perfect match and marrying them, except their “talking stages” take place with a wall in between.

Although this experiment has been pretty successful in season 1 with married couples Cameron Hamilton and Lauren Speed, as well as Matthew Barnett and Amber Pike, the same could not be said about season 2. There were two couples who decided to get married, Danielle Ruhl and Nick Thompson, and Iyanna McNeely and Jarrette Jones, but both couples quickly ended in divorce. Even though there have been mixed outcomes from this experiment, I am not entirely confident that the couples of season 3 will make it down the aisle.

In episode 1, couple Alexa Alfia and Brennon Lemieux already said “I love you” and became engaged. For some, this may come off as moving too fast and just wanting to find someone as quickly as possible. Personally, I think this couple meshes well together and they have genuinely formed a good connection. In the pods they spoke their deep truths, rather than sugarcoating who they really are.

Colleen Reed, who is engaged to Matthew Bolton, previously formed strong connections with two other men: Cole Barnett and Brennon Lemieux. Both these connections did not move further due to the men’s interest in other women, who they later proposed to. Once Colleen had learned that the two other men had decided to go down different paths, she immediately decided to pursue the brief connection she had made with Bolton. This made me wonder if the relationship Colleen and Matthew formed was genuine, or a result of the rejection she received from the two other men. In episode 4, Colleen and Matthew got into an argument that looked like it could have ended their relationship for good. This was due to a flirtatious conversation that Colleen and Cole had at the pool, which Matthew viewed as disrespectful. Later in the episode, the couple made up and were able to talk through their initial miscommunication.

The man that I feel brings up the most red flags this season is Bartise Bowden, who is engaged to Nancy Rodriguez. Bowden had previously formed a strong connection to Raven Ross, who is now engaged to “SK” Sikiru. He told Nancy that he regrets ending his relationship with Raven so quickly and wishes he was able to talk to her more. Not only has Nancy looked over the 5-year age difference between herself and Bartise, but she has given him more chances than he deserves.

With only 4 more episodes to be released between November 2nd and 9th, we will see the paths these couples go down. I am rooting for Alexa and Brennon to make it down the aisle and live happily ever after!
