Emily in Paris was released on Netflix in October of 2020. It was a short series with only one season of ten episodes, but recently got renewed for a second season! Emily in Paris focuses on the new Parisian life of Emily Cooper, a social media strategist from Chicago. In Paris, Emily encounters numerous difficulties with the French language, her boyfriend (eventual ex), French culture, her new coworkers, and her neighbor Gabriel. As a 20-year-old girl who dreams to travel the world, Emily in Paris was a great, girly, cheesy show for me to watch.

I loved Emily’s fashion, the way her modern company worked, and the relationships she formed with characters (specifically Gabriel). However, many critics didn’t approve of the way the city and the culture of Paris were portrayed. Since this show is so new, I believe they can fix these problems going forward with future seasons. If you want a quick and enjoyable Netflix series (and you love drama and travel like me) I would highly recommend watching Emily in Paris. Bon visionnage!
