The Surrogate Mother by Freida McFadden is a fascinating, suspenseful and emotional book that I recently enjoyed reading. I recommend this book to anyone who likes thrillers that keep you guessing until the end. McFadden is one of my favorite authors for making suspenseful books and making readers continue to turn her pages into an amazing story. The fact that it was actually a real story that happened to one of her close friends made it a little bit more emotional for me, because I can imagine what this girl is going through in the situation that the book entails.

Something I enjoy the most about the book is how it slowly discloses information about the character and her life. Just when I started to comprehend who the character is in reality, something is always happening making me not want to set it aside. The twists and turns of this book made it difficult to put down. I always wanted to know what was happening next.

A brief inside towards a book is the main character. Abby is a head director at a marketing firm for a baby diaper brand and she has difficulties getting pregnant. She cannot get pregnant. She has tried many times, and they tried to adopt with her husband, but the adoptions kept falling through. It was  a really long, hard process for her, and her  coworker came up with an idea to become a surrogate mother for her to help her through this difficult time so she can afford to go back to school and get her masters. They proposed that tot Abby, and her husband will pay for her schooling and her time off and to give the baby to her. However,  it will be her coworker and husband‘s baby, and that’s where a lot of complicated situations start to happen and the book becomes super interesting and suspenseful.

That the most to me was the way the book made me think about relationships and their challenges. As I was reading, I would find myself questioning the various characters. I was wondering who I could really trust. To me,it demonstrated  an emotional view of motherhood in a complicated situation that the character had to deal with.

Overall, I would recommend The Surrogate Mother. I really thought it was an interesting and great story with a lot of twists and turns. I enjoyed the experience of reflecting on the different viewpoints that I have had on motherhood, and being in a situation with many women who are not talked about enough, and the emotional play I had towards sympathy gained from it.

I love going to new places and exploring the outdoors. Going out with my friends having a fun time.
