7 Movies You *MUST* Watch This Holiday

Finals will be over soon enough, but it's time to start celebrating the HOLIDAYS! The holidays are such a special time of year where you spend time with family and friends, make cookies, open presents, and have an awesome time. Holiday movies are essential and without them Christmas just loses its spirit. Thank Santa that never happens.

Here are the 7 best Holiday movies you MUST watch!

1. The Polar Express (2004)

I’m truly not a fan of spoilers but to give a little insight this movie is absolutely adorable. It brings me back to my childhood. It’s about a little boy who lacks the ability to believe in the holidays and embarks on this crazy journey with other children. His newfound adventure forces him to reawaken his spirit in Santa Claus.

2. Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer (1964)

This 1964 movie might be old, but in my opinion, the classics are the best! If you haven’t heard of this little fella, let me educate you. This is Rudolph, a reindeer who is born with a nose that lights up! Throughout his life, he hasn’t always been respected as a regular reindeer because of his nose, but after leaving his home, he meets friends, an elf and a prospector, who want to change their destiny that was set out for them. The situation turns worse when Christmas is about to be canceled due to a blizzard! However, Santa then decides to have Rudolph lead the sleigh team with his bright nose and save the day!

3. A Christmas Carol (2009)

Nobody likes a Scrooge! And that’s exactly what this guy is. During his life, Ebenezar Scrooge has refused to welcome the holidays. Once his partner dies, he is warned in a dream that he has to welcome the spirit of the holidays into his life. If he doesn’t, the three spirits of the past, present, and future will come and do it for him.

4. Home Alone (1990)

No one can say they haven’t watched this movie a gazillion times! This movie is about a little boy named Kevin Macallister who has an argument with his mother before their holiday trip and wishes he never had a family. Harsh, right? Well, his wish does come true once the family packs their things and head to the airport, ultimately leaving him behind. Two thieves plan to rob their house and little Kevin is all alone! Who is left to defend it? Kevin Macallister!

5. Santa Claus is Comin' to Town! (1970)

Now, this is another classic, but I like knowing  the real story behind Santa Claus. This movie illustrates an orphaned baby being raised by a family of elves with unconditional love. As he becomes of age, he brings toys to a gloomy town called Sombertown for the children even though it was illegal. He begins to find ways to deliver children toys since the evil mayor would burn the toys if they were found. Eventually, the town is able to have fun with toys since the mayor passes away. Then the orphaned baby, Kris, becomes Santa Claus!

6. Frosty the Snowman (1969)

Frosty the Snowman is just iconic. The movie is about children making a snowman, putting on a magical hat, and watching Frosty come to life and bring joy to the children. When a magician wants the hat back, Frosty is forced to flee to the North Pole.

7. The Christmas Chronicles (2018)

Now this movie feel I like it was just yesterday I watched it. It’s about these two siblings who plot to capture Santa on Christmas Eve. Camera-involved! That’s how you know it’s about to get good. However, the worst arrives and it’s up to the siblings with Santa and his elves to save Christmas and deliver all the presents!
